Synchronising your computers' clock to the network: NTPdate

NTPdate is a tool used to quickly synchronize and set computers' date and time by querying a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server.

To set time quickly run:

ntpdate time_server_name

Also you can use a pool of NTP servers to synchronize time:

ntpdate pool.ntp.org
ntpdate europe.pool.ntp.org

For periodic synchronization with NTP servers add this task to Cron:

30 * * * * root /usr/sbin/ntpdate -bs [ntp server1] [ntp server2] [ntp server3]
